1Overview
- MyKidzHealth Inc. ("MyKidzHealth", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information and personal health information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our platform, website, and services.
- We comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) of Ontario, and all applicable Canadian federal and provincial privacy legislation.
- By using MyKidzHealth, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you are accessing this service on behalf of a minor child, you confirm that you are that child's parent or legal guardian.
2Information We Collect
- Account Information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, and payment information necessary to create and manage your account.
- Child Health Information: To provide pediatric care services, we collect your child's name, date of birth, health card number (where applicable), medical history, current symptoms, medications, allergies, and immunization records.
- Consultation Data: We collect records of virtual consultations, including clinical notes, diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and any follow-up information created by our clinicians.
- Device & Usage Data: We automatically collect certain technical information including IP address, browser type, device identifiers, operating system, pages visited, and time spent on our platform to improve service performance and security.
- Communications: If you contact our support team, we retain records of those communications to help resolve issues and improve our service.
3How We Use Your Information
- Providing Care: Your personal health information is used primarily to facilitate virtual consultations between your family and our licensed Ontario clinicians.
- Account Management: We use your account information to authenticate users, manage subscriptions, process payments, and communicate service updates.
- Care Continuity: With your consent, we may share clinical notes and visit summaries with your child's primary care provider to ensure continuity of care.
- Safety & Legal Obligations: We may use or disclose information where required by law, court order, or where disclosure is necessary to prevent serious harm to your child or others.
- Service Improvement: De-identified and aggregated data may be used to analyze platform performance, improve clinical workflows, and enhance the overall user experience.
- Communications: We use your contact information to send appointment confirmations, service updates, and — with your consent — relevant health tips and platform announcements.
5Data Security
- We implement industry-standard technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher and encrypted at rest. Our video consultation infrastructure uses end-to-end encryption. Access to personal health information is restricted to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to keep your login credentials confidential.
6Data Retention
- We retain personal health information for a minimum of 10 years from the date of the last service, or until a child reaches age 18 and an additional 10 years thereafter, in accordance with Ontario's Health Records Act and applicable professional standards.
- Account information is retained for the duration of your subscription and for a reasonable period after termination for legal and billing purposes.
- You may request deletion of non-health-record account data at any time, subject to any legal retention obligations.
7Your Rights
- Access: You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you and your child.
- Correction: You may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Withdrawal of Consent: You may withdraw consent for non-essential uses of your information at any time. Note that withdrawal may affect our ability to provide certain services.
- Complaints: If you believe we have handled your information improperly, you may contact our Privacy Officer or file a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario (IPC).
8Children's Privacy
- Our service is designed for minors under 18, accessed and consented to by their parents or legal guardians. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without verifiable parental consent.
- If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without appropriate consent, please contact us immediately and we will take prompt steps to delete such information.
